Yes, believe it or not, I enjoy doing pageants. For many of you who don't know, I spent my childhood and early twenties doing pageants. I even did the South Carolina Miss USA pageant. I won a couple of local titles (including the famed Newberry Prevention Fire Queen LOL) beforehand, but sadly didn't place. I'll never forget -- the girl who won was backstage before judging in tears that she didn't do well...and then she went on to win. Crazy, right?
The problem is, now that I'm older, I don't have much of a svelte body to put into a dress (not without some precious Spanx), and I only have about a month now to really prepare, as I have been busy with wedding stuff.
I do have some modest goals -- mainly to lose at least 5-10 pounds, participate in the Color Run in November...so hopefully I can do some quick training so that I can be in at least slightly better shape!
I also need to take some new photos... Pretty much the only reason why I'm doing it is to prove to myself that I've still "got it". This pageant also offers great prizes as well.
